Annapurna Everest Experience
» 24 Days Round Trip, 18 Days Trekking. Max Altitude: 3960m

This combination of 9 days trekking in the Annapurnas followed by 9 days trekking in the Everest region, provides an exciting encounter with two different but both spectacularly beautiful regions of the Himalaya.

We first head west by bus to Pokhara. From a low altitude start, walking through fields and villages, we contrast the lifestyle of the local Hindu population with the Buddhists of the Everest region we will meet later. The hauntingly beautiful Machapuchare (6,995m) and Lamjung (6,951m), follow us day by day as we journey through extensive rhododendron forests up to our high point of 2,713m.

After returning to Kathmandu for a nights rest, we fly east from Kathmandu, to Lukla. After trekking beside the raging Dudh Kosi river we walk up to Namche Bazaar, the main town of the Solu Khumbu Sherpa region. From Namche Bazaar up to our high point at Thyangboche monastery (3,872m), we are surrounded by soaring peaks such as Kwangde (6,189m), Thamserku (6,610m) and Kantega (6,780m), with Everest itself peeking from behind the Lhotse/Nuptse ridge.
