Away from the busy tourist routes, this trek provides a magnificent introduction to the pleasures of trekking. Starting from Pokhara, we journey under the dominating Annapurna 2 (7,940m), Lamjung Himal (6,951m) and Machapuchare (6,995m). One of the advantages of this trek is that it is fun for all ages. Without having to reach high altitudes, views of the mountain peaks are close and clear.

From the first days, the mountains are staggeringly beautiful. First Mailung then Ganesh Himal (7,122m) and Langtang (7,246m) and finally the Annapurna range, stretch across the sky. At Kyangjin Gompa, we spend a night in what is one of the most stunning spots of all our treks. Out of the lonely, sparsely inhabited valley, rise sharp, white peaks, an awe-inspiring experience.

On our journey we encounter first, people of the Brahmin caste and then Gurungs. Siklis is the largest Gurung village where many Gurung soldiers have their home. The colour and vibrance of the people is beautifully matched by the calm of the vast forests of rhododendrum, oak and bamboo.
