This classic trek covers the extremes of Nepali trekking. Following the route of countless climbing expeditions to Everest, we trek from Jiri, through the foothills where Gauri Shankar (7,137m), Menlungtse (7,268m) and Numbue (6,951m), look down on us. By the time we pass Lukla, we have travelled through Chetri, Rai and Tamang communities, seen the panorama of mountain peaks change and become closer and improved our fitness tremendously. This has made our appreciation of the culture and scenery greater and our exertion less for the remainder of the trek, which then follows the same route as that of Everest Kala Patar.
